RISO
RISO is a Japanese printing technology company known for its high-speed, high-efficiency inkjet printers used across education, business, and government sectors. While the product is technically advanced, the brand's UK digital presence did not reflect the innovation and premium quality that define its hardware.

Redefining Premium for the Print Industry

RISO is a Japanese printing technology company known for its high-speed, high-efficiency inkjet printers used across education, business, and government sectors. While the product is technically advanced, the brand's UK digital presence did not reflect the innovation and premium quality that define its hardware.
The project involved a full-scale revamp of RISO UK’s online presence and marketing visuals. I was responsible for leading the UX/UI strategy and visual direction, overseeing the development of the new UK website, creating a fully rendered 3D product model, and designing creative assets for digital marketing campaigns.
Project Scope:
Full UX/UI audit and redesign of the RISO UK website
3D modelling of the flagship printer for interactive product experience
Concept development and art direction
Campaign design for digital platforms (PPC, social media, print)

Problem
RISO’s UK website lacked the clarity, sophistication, and technical storytelling needed to reflect its premium product line. The brand wanted to align itself with aspirational tech leaders like Apple and Dyson, where functionality meets elegant, human-centred design.
Project Goals:
Reposition RISO UK as a premium tech-forward brand
Improve the website’s user experience and visual language
Integrate interactive media, including 3D product visualisation
Support ongoing digital marketing campaigns with cohesive design assets
My Process:
The project began with a comprehensive site audit to identify content gaps, UX issues, and outdated visual elements. I led iterative reviews with the client, and after 3 design reviews, we arrived at a style and flow that reflected their ambition. Throughout the process, I approached the challenge from a multidisciplinary lens—balancing visual direction, storytelling, and functionality.
Personal Growth:
This project helped me evolve as a design leader, combining UX thinking, 3D design, brand strategy, and campaign execution. It pushed me to think not just in terms of interface design, but how RISO could tell its story through immersive digital experiences.

Solution
The redesign was part of a larger ongoing campaign to rebrand RISO in the UK as a modern, forward-thinking company. Every asset, from the website to a promotional drinks can, please into a visual story for a 'Refreshing Change'
Multichannel Focus:
Deliverables were designed for a wide range of channels:
Website: Core UX/UI revamp with interactive 3D product model
Social Media & PPC Ads: High-impact graphics optimised for engagement
Print: Custom packaging artwork and branded materials
Consistency & Identity:
Inspired by Apple/Dyson, we developed a minimalist, modular visual system that could scale across touchpoints. Typography, tone, and spacing were carefully refined to present RISO as premium, accessible, and technical. The same design language was applied to digital ads, social graphics, and print-ready artwork to maintain brand consistency.
